Cities, states, and countries around the world have been making changes to their laws regarding psychedelics. Some have fully legalized certain substances, while others have decriminalized them. Legalization means that the use of the substance is fully permitted, but no government has yet to legalize all psychedelic compounds. Some have made changes specifically for substances like MDMA and psilocybin. Even in areas where laws are changing, there are still restrictions in place, such as age limits and regulations on sales and prescriptions.

Decriminalization, on the other hand, means that law enforcement deems these substances as a low priority. It does not change their legal status, but it reduces the likelihood of facing legal issues for using psychedelics.

In the United States, two states have fully legalized psychedelics, while over a dozen cities have decriminalized them for personal use. Oregon and Colorado have passed legislation allowing the use of psilocybin in licensed facilities, with some limitations.

In Canada, psychedelics remain illegal, but law enforcement has been lenient, allowing stores to openly sell these substances.

Portugal, in Europe, has decriminalized all illegal drugs, including psychedelics.

The Netherlands is the only country where psychedelic mushroom truffles can be legally sold and consumed.

England has been a hub for psychedelic research, despite no legal changes yet.

In Central America, particularly Mexico and Costa Rica, has lax laws and enforcement regarding psychedelics, making it popular for clinics and retreat centers.

South American countries like Peru, Colombia, and Brazil have various laws regarding psychedelics, with some allowing traditional plant medicines like ayahuasca.

Jamaica has become a popular psychedelic destination due to the legal status of mushrooms.

Asia is more conservative in terms of drug laws and stigmas but Thailand has shown some interest in studying and potentially legalizing psychedelics.

Australia has recently legalized psilocybin and MDMA for medical purposes, while New Zealand offers legal, medical ibogaine treatment for opioid addiction.

It is important to stay updated on the constantly changing global regulations regarding psychedelics, as they can vary significantly from one country or state to another.
